Staying in Touch
One of the questions parents often have is how communication works once camp has started.
At our teen summer camp in Tarifa, teenagers usually have their phones with them and can stay in contact with their families. At the same time, daily life at camp is active and mostly outdoors, so communication tends to happen from time to time rather than continuously.
For a closer look at what to expect during the first days, we invite you to read our article Arrival and the First Days at Camp in Tarifa.
Finding a Balance
We encourage a balanced approach. Teenagers stay connected, but also have space to be present in the experience without being constantly on their phones.
In practice, most teenagers find their own rhythm. During the first days, contact is often more frequent. As they settle in, communication usually becomes less regular as they become more engaged in daily life.

Direct Contact With Us
We are always available if parents need to reach out, and if something important comes up, we contact them directly.
At the same time, we also encourage open and transparent communication throughout the camp. Teenagers can speak directly with our team if something feels unclear or uncomfortable, so that situations can be addressed early and in a straightforward way.
What Parents Usually Experience
After the first few days, most parents feel reassured and simply enjoy the occasional update from their teens, who are active, busy, and fully engaged in everything they are doing. This naturally reduces the need for frequent contact.
A Reassuring Framework
What matters most is that communication is always possible, even if it is not constant.
This creates a balance where teenagers can enjoy a certain level of independence, while parents know that they can reach them – or contact us at our teen summer camp in Tarifa – whenever needed. In practice, a bit of space often helps teenagers settle in more easily and make the most of the experience.
