Choosing the right accommodation is one of the most important decisions for any teen summer camp. Over the years, we have looked for a place that offers more than just rooms and beds. We wanted a residence that reflects the values of our camp: simplicity, community and a connection to local life.
A Residence with a Long Tradition
The building where our participants stay has been serving young people for many years. Originally, it provided accommodation for children and teenagers living in rural areas whose families could not travel long distances every day.
Today, the residence continues to support education by welcoming young adults who come from outside the area to attend vocational and technical training programmes in Tarifa.
For us, becoming part of this project was an easy decision. Rather than using a purpose-built holiday complex, we liked the idea of working with a local institution that continues to play an important role in the community.
Supporting a Local Institution
One of the reasons we chose this residence is its long-standing role in supporting young people and education in the region.
Over the years, we have appreciated the opportunity to work with an institution that continues to serve students throughout the year. Our collaboration also contributes to the ongoing maintenance and improvement of the facilities, helping ensure that future generations of students can continue to benefit from them.
In this way, our relationship with the residence goes beyond simply renting accommodation for the summer.
In the Heart of Tarifa
Location is another reason why we chose this residence for our camp in Tarifa.
Situated in the centre of town, it allows participants to reach many activities on foot. The beach, the old town and the daily life of Tarifa are all part of the experience.
Rather than being isolated in a tourist complex, teenagers become part of the rhythm of the town while still enjoying a structured camp environment.
Exclusive to Our Participants During the Summer
During the camp season, the residence is reserved exclusively for Lenguaventura participants and staff.
This creates a welcoming international environment where teenagers quickly get to know one another and where camp life continues beyond classes, sports and excursions.
Many of the friendships that begin during the day continue in the shared spaces of the residence, making accommodation an important part of the overall camp experience.
