Life Outdoors in Tarifa
Many teenagers today spend a large part of their daily life indoors — at school, at home, or in front of screens.
In Tarifa, spending most of the day outdoors is part of everyday life, not only at our teen summer camp. Life naturally happens between the beach, the ocean and outdoor activities. For teenagers, this often creates a completely different rhythm from the one they are used to at home.

A Different Rhythm During Camp
Language classes are part of the daily structure, while much of the rest of the day naturally takes place outdoors. Being outdoors for long periods of time changes attention and energy levels quite noticeably. Teenagers are physically active, but also less absorbed by constant digital stimulation. Phones naturally become less central when the day is already filled with movement, activities and interaction with others.
The Influence of the Ocean and the Weather
The environment itself also plays an important role. Wind, sun and changing ocean conditions require teenagers to pay attention to what is happening around them. Conditions are never exactly the same, and adapting to them becomes part of daily life. This creates a different kind of focus than the one created by screens or indoor routines.

Because the environment itself is active and shared, interaction often happens more easily and with less pressure.

After such an intensive outdoor experience, many teenagers return home calmer, more grounded, and with a different sense of how life feels when days are shaped more by outdoor activities and real interaction than by phones and social media.
