A Different Rhythm from Everyday Life
At camp, many teenagers are surprised by how quickly time passes.
After only a few days, the rhythm of everyday life often feels far away. Days are full, structured and active, but without the constant feeling of checking the time or moving from one obligation to the next.
At our teen summer camp in Tarifa, the days naturally follow the rhythm of the group, the wind and the activities. Language classes, time on the water, excursions and evenings together create a flow where one moment naturally leads into the next.

Constant Interaction Throughout the Day
One reason why time feels different at camp is the amount of interaction teenagers have throughout the day.
There is almost always somebody around — to talk to, laugh with, share small camp secrets with, or simply chill together. Teenagers spend very little time isolated or alone with screens, which creates a very different social dynamic.
Shared activities also make communication easier. Having common interests and experiencing the same moments together quickly creates familiarity within the group.

Less Focus on Phones and Social Media
At the same time, phones and social media often become less central once daily life moves mostly outdoors and within the group itself. This does not happen because phones are forbidden, but because attention naturally shifts towards real conversations, activities and the people around them.
Quickly Settling Into Camp Life
Because the days are full and socially active, teenagers often settle into camp life very quickly and disconnect from their normal routines for a while.
For parents, it is often rewarding to see teenagers becoming fully engaged in daily life at camp rather than remaining constantly focused on screens and social media.
